Answer to Question 1

D
Feedback:
Although protein is not truly stored in the body as are glucose and fat, a supply of each amino acid exists in a metabolic pool of free amino acids within cells and circulating in blood. This pool consists of recycled amino acids from body proteins that have broken down and also amino acids from food.

Answer to Question 2

D
The esophagus is the tube that carries a food bolus from the mouth to the stomach. Waste prod-ucts are excreted from the rectum, the kidneys, and the lungs. Blood, enzymes, and hormones do not follow such a specific pathway in the body.
