The three stages of statutory publication are: 1 ) slip laws; 2 ) session laws; and 3 ) the statutory code. A slip law the first print version of a newly enacted or amended law. The session laws are a collection of all laws following a legislative session that are edited and published in a series of bound volumes called the Statutes at Large. The statutory code is the final stage of statutory publication when all of the law are compiled and organized into permanent titles and sections in a hardbound print set and online.
