Answer to Question 1

One can send cards for birthdays, wedding anniversaries, or holidays. Clients who have used the firm for particular types of services can receive legal newsletters concerning those areas of law. By keeping track of when wills are signed, the law firm can send a check-up notice after a certain period of time to review and perhaps revise a client's estate plan.

Answer to Question 2

Databases organize information in tables containing fields of information, or data. A field contains one type of information, such as last names. A record is all the information about one item or person. Reports present the data from the database in an organized, readable presentation.
