Answer to Question 1
Chlamydia is considered a major factor in male and female infertility because this STI can seriously damage the reproductive system. Symptoms are usually mild or absent and, indeed, three of four people with the infection don't know they're ill until the infection has become quite serious. Infertility often occurs silently because the individual is unaware of the infection until it is too late. Although chlamydia can be treated successfully with oral antibiotics, its damage to the reproductive system is irreversible. Symptoms of serious infection include abdominal pain, fever, nausea, vaginal bleeding, and arthritis.
