Answer to Question 1

The paging system vibrates and flashes, and plays an audio message informing the guest that the table is ready, as shown in Figure 8.3 . It also alerts guests when they have gone too far from the restaurant. The guest pager serves to establish a commitment between the restaurant and the guest by promptly alerting the guest when the table is ready. It further reduces the chaos that sometimes occurs at the host stand during busy times, seats more people, and contributes to a smoother running operation.

Answer to Question 2

If water spots repeatedly occur, there may be a final rinse problem with the dishwasher that can be corrected. The manager should be informed of the problem.
