It depends how you define a restaurant. Royal banqueting and the service of prepared foods to travelers in lodging venues can be traced back several thousand years. The modern restaurant form emerged during the early nineteenth century. Chain restaurants, and restaurants as an industry comparable in size and scope to the manufacturing sector, are phenomena of the twentieth century.

Learning does not take place until and unless the information that was part of the training was received. Training instigates learning.
