Answer to Question 1

Young athletes with low self-esteem see their bodies as poorly developed even if they have exceptional muscles. These men become obsessed with their bodies and weigh themselves constantly. They also may weight train and use anabolic steroids to increase their muscle mass. Many eating disorders in male athletes, like anorexia nervosa, are disorders of body image. Men with eating disorders are also perfectionists and control their bodies by building up their muscle mass even beyond what it may already be.
