Dehydration's effects may resemble those of other conditions (see Table 8-1). For example, dehydration can cause fatigue or a feeling of weakness. People may assume that they have anemia or that they need more carbohydrates in their diet. If they are chronically dehydrated, they may not realize that they would have more strength and energy if they drank more water.
