b

Answer to Question 2

The reaction in which pyruvate is broken down into acetyl Co-A and carbon dioxide is not reversible. This means that the cells must produce pyruvate from glycolysis to supply the TCA (Krebs) cycle with Acetyl Co-A in order to make ATP during the electron transport system. There is no chemical reaction that can convert fatty acids into glucose.
