Which of the following factors is associated with lower HDL levels?
 a. Being a non-smoker, as opposed to a smoker
  b. Weight loss
  c. Being male, as opposed to female
  d. Consumption of fish rather than meat

Question 2

Galactose is converted to glucose in the liver. Why is there less of a concern about galactose than fructose in the diet?

Galactose is only found as part of milk sugar-lactose. Galactose is released from lactose which is galactose bound to glucose. The lactase enzyme of the small intestine breaks down lactose into galactose and glucose. The galactose is absorbed directly into the blood and is converted to glucose in the liver. It is not found anywhere else in foods.
