Answer to Question 1

c

Answer to Question 2

Studies suggest that caffeine may influence the muscles to breakdown more fatty acids in addition to stored glycogen during exercise. This may spare glycogen such that it is not depleted during exercise. If the cells do not have glucose available from absorption or the stored glycogen breakdown, they will not be able to obtain ATP energy as efficiently from fatty acid breakdown. This will lead to muscle fatigue and exhaustion. Athletes who consume beverages with caffeine may experience more endurance as a result.
