All of the following are true regarding critical periods EXCEPT:
  1.a critical period is an interval of time when cells are genetically programmed to multiply.
  2.sufficient nutrients must be available for cell multiplication to occur.
  3.if nutrients are not available the developing organ will be impaired.
  4.if nutrients become available after the critical period the organs will grow to full size.

  2.at or before 39 weeks of gestation.
  3.at or before 38 weeks of gestation.
