Answer to Question 1

Many mentally ill people (often including homeless individuals) are forced to rely on public assistance or various sources of charity for most of their food. People with mental illness can lose interest in eating or experience a decreasing ability to prepare their meals. Clinical depression in new mothers, particularly those with low incomes, has also been associated with food insecurity.
