 A lunar day is the time elapsed for the moon to orbit from the highest point in the sky to the next time it is at that point.
 A solar day corresponds with the rotation of the Earth. With each solar day, the moons position moves 12.2 in the sky.
 The lunar day is longer than the solar day. It is approximately 24 hours and 50 minutes. This is because the Earth must rotate an additional 12.2 to place the moon at the same point in the sky. This additional rotation equates to 50 minutes of time.
 Solar days are a consistent 24 hour period.
