Answer to Question 1

Suggestions include Martha Stewart and all of her home improvement or quality living
products from picture frames to cookbooks to paint colors. This stimulates the economy by
the connection of her empire to companies such as Lowe's, Macy's, as well as her own online brand. This creates demand in the production, distribution, retail, and Internet business as
we all would like to emulate Martha's life style.
Other designers and celebrities may be cited as well from Paloma Picasso for Tiffany, to
Reece Witherspoon for Avon fragrances.

Answer to Question 2

The markup on the group of sweaters, blouses, pants, and skirts falls short of the desired markup of 51.6. In order to better meet the desired goal, the store can try reducing some of its expenses, especially those that are not fixed. It can also try to secure lower cost prices on items purchased from vendors so that a higher individual markup may be placed on merchandise.

Although the Roman numeral for the number 4 has always been taught to have been "IV," according to historians, the ancient Romans probably used "IIII" most of the time. This is partially backed up by the fact that early grandfather clocks displayed IIII for the number 4 instead of IV. Early clockmakers apparently thought that the IIII balanced out the VIII (used for the number 8) on the clock face and that it just looked better.
