Children under the age of five in group settings have six to nine illnesses a year; working parents lose 5 to 29 days of work due to their children's illnesses; employee absenteeism costs companies.

Answer to Question 2

Children's immune systems are not fully developed, nor as strong as an adult's. As a result, they may be sickened by smaller amounts of contaminated foods. However, this same recommendation applies to adultsno one is immune from a foodborne illness.
