You are treating a female transportation worker who fell down an embankment while working along the interstate. She is complaining of severe pain in her left leg and you notice that the leg is angulated. On examination, there is no distal pulse. The best course of treatment for this patient would be to ________.
◦ explain to the patient that, because you cannot detect circulation in her foot, her leg will most likely have to be amputated above the site of the injury
◦ apply high-flow/high-concentration oxygen and transport rapidly to the nearest trauma center
◦ move the leg into the position of function, and then recheck CSM
◦ splint the leg in the position in which it was found and transport without delay
