Question 1

For the reaction H2O2(g) → H2O(g) + 1/2O2(g), ΔH° = –106 kJ/mol and ΔS° = 58 J/K·mol at 25°C.  Calculate ΔG° for this reaction at this temperature.

Question 2

For the reaction H2O2(g) → H2O(g) + 1/2O2(g), ΔH° = –106 kJ/mol and ΔS° = 58 J/K·mol at 25°C.  Is H2O2(g) stable with respect to dissociation into water vapor and oxygen gas at 25°C?

When Gabriel Fahrenheit invented the first mercury thermometer, he called "zero degrees" the lowest temperature he was able to attain with a mixture of ice and salt. For the upper point of his scale, he used 96°, which he measured as normal human body temperature (we know it to be 98.6° today because of more accurate thermometers).
