Answer to Question 1

B

Answer to Question 2

1 point for an accurate description of self-disclosure, such as:
- The process of intentionally revealing information about yourself that others would not normally know
- Verbally sharing aspects of who you are: thoughts, feelings, and reactions to people and events
- Requires that it is deliberate, significant, and not already known to the other person
1 point for an accurate explanation of why someone might want to reveal information about him/herself. Any of the following, or something similar:
- Verbalizing things helps you become more self-aware, i.e., understand more about why you act as you do
- Being more self-aware helps you think through what you might need to do to become more successful in life
- It is hard to change something if you don't know what it is that is keeping you from being more successful; self-disclosure helps you clarify why you act as you do
- Appropriate self-disclosure helps you build relationships with others; this can provide a support network, keep you from feeling lonely, and relieve stress by getting something off your chest
