  everyone is faring quite similarly.
  they are doing better than she is; she has more problems.
  she is doing well but they have more problems and are self-absorbed.
  everyone gets what he or she deserves and she deserves more.

Ageism is insidious when concerning the elderly because
 
  their political voice effects change only minimally.
  it undermines their feelings of competence and self-esteem.
  youth rebel against ageism.
  the elderly are unable to participate in many activities that would lengthen their
