Answer to Question 1

Though Erikson's stage of identity versus role confusion is primarily associated with
the identity crisis of adolescence, Erikson acknowledged that identity could be a
lifelong process. Generativity and stagnation is the stage associated with adulthood
and the need to care for the next generation. Generativity, unselfish caring for
others, may be observed in adolescents just as the search for identity as life
circumstances change may occur in adulthood.

Answer to Question 2

Answers will vary and should clearly indicate an understanding of the nature of the
social convoy. At least several members should be described along with ways in
which they have supported the student.
