Answer to Question 1

D

Answer to Question 2

The primary method for doing this research involves watching what infants do. For example, infants tend to progress from random and accidental actions to increasing levels of purposeful behavior. A child may kick his leg, which causes the mobile above his crib to move. If the infant repeats this action, it may demonstrate that he is aware of a relationship between his behavior and the environment. Piaget referred to these relationships as circular reactions. As the child gets older, these reactions appear to become more purposeful and begin to be applied to specific situations with the goal of creating a specific outcome.
