Answer to Question 1

For novices, the goal of accomplishing the activity is to reach as rapidly as possible a satisfactory performance level that is stable and autonomous. In contrast, experts build up a wealth of knowledge about alternative ways of solving problems or making decisions. Experts are able to bypass steps needed by novices. Experts are more flexible, creative, and curious; and they have superior strategies grounded on superior knowledge for accomplishing a task. Experts have a harder time explaining how they arrived at a particular answer.
