Answer to Question 1

Menopause is the point at which menstruation stops. Possible symptoms include hot flashes, night sweats, headaches, sleep problems, mood changes, more urinary infections, pain during sex, difficulty concentrating, vaginal dryness, less interest in sex, and an increase in body fat around the waist. MHT contains low doses of estrogen combined with progestin. There are both benefits and risks with MHT. MHT can help reduce hot flashes and night sweats, help reduce vaginal dryness and discomfort during sexual intercourse, slow bone loss and perhaps ease mood swings. However, MHT can increase a woman's risk of blood clots, heart attack, stroke, breast cancer, and gallbladder disease.
