Answer to Question 1

ANS: D
Genetic factors, such as family history of hypertension, are the number one factor in the devel-opment of hypertension. Race and diet may be factors, but genetic factors are primary. Age is a factor, but not in this case; since the patient is 30, genetics are a greater factor.

Answer to Question 2

ANS: B
Coronary artery disease leads to myocardial ischemia. Coronary artery disease would not lead to hypertrophy, but not to ischemia, necrosis, or inflammation.
