Answer to Question 1

d

Answer to Question 2

The costs of conducting community-based research are less than the same trials in an academic medical center. In addition, the research organizations conducting the trials for the pharmaceutical companies are able to produce results more quickly than an academic medical center. Additional benefits are (1) adding a level of continuity and personal contact to the process; (2) providing an enormous pool of potential research subjects; and (3) bringing clinical research into the private office allows patients and their physicians access to current and scientifically advanced therapies.
