Answer to Question 1

Answer: 3

1. The trachea is responsible for moving air and debris.
2. The bronchi direct the passage of air in and out of each lung.
3. The alveoli are surrounded by blood vessels that take in oxygen from the alveoli and release carbon dioxide into the alveoli.
4. The pleura is a membrane that coats the outside of the lungs.

2. Unconscious clients breathe.
3. The cough reflex is nonfunctional, not just diminished, when the client is unconscious.
4. There is no correlation between unconsciousness and sinus drainage.
