Glycosuria is expected for a client during pregnancy, not during the postpartum period. Nocturnal enuresis and risk for hyperkalemia are anticipate for older adult clients.

Alternative therapy including music therapy has been used for nausea and vomiting. Ondansetron is a serotonin receptor agonist used commonly and an antiemetic. Clients should be positioned with the HOB elevated 30 degrees during enteral nutrition feedings. Enteral nutrition and TPN are used concurrently. Nausea is worsened by drinking fluid within 1 hour of meals.
