Answer to Question 1

The spleen is the major site for destroying old erythrocytes and is a reservoir for blood. It also acts as a filter, removing microorganisms from the blood.
Tonsils filter bacteria and help to form white blood cells.
The thymus makes T cells which are important in cellular immune responses.
