Critical care codes are used to report services that require the constant attention by the provider due to situations related to the patient's medical condition with illness or injuries that put the patient at high risk should the provider not be in attendance.

Answer to Question 2

Responding: The provider responds to the initial provider who requested the consultation via a written report.
