Answer to Question 1

D Considered unnecessary by most health care facilities is incorrect because advantages of
accreditation are numerous and include financial and legal incentives. Required for state
licensure in all states is incorrect because state licensure is required for accreditation but not
the reverse. Conducted in each facility annually is incorrect because Joint Commission
conducts unannounced on-site surveys approximately every 3 years.
