Answer to Question 1

Plain x-rays are taken without enhancement (ie, without contrast media). Planar x-ray refers to simple x-ray techniques that produce a 2-dimensional image of the structures lying between the x-ray source and the film (the plane). Planar x-ray may or may not use contrast media.

Answer to Question 2

Activity, no specific answer provided. Note, a lordotic view positions the patient so that the clavicles are not superimposed over the lungs; helpful in imaging the apices.
