.True claudication would be marked by decreased pulses (indicating decreased blood flow) in the lower extremities whereas neurogenic claudication would not be associated with decreased pulses. Other physical signs of claudication include those associated with peripheral vascular disease such as cool extremities, prolonged capillary fill time in the affected extremity, decreased hair growth on the lower legs, and poorly healing wounds in the lower extremities.

Answer to Question 2

Caudad refers to a direction toward the tail, so the caudad vertebra would be the vertebra below the osteophytes (ie, the vertebra closer to the end of the spine).
