The optimistic bias heuristic is the tendency of people to underestimate their own risks and overestimate their own control in dangerous situations.

Answer to Question 2

The representation heuristic involves making a snap judgment that X is like Y in every way, upon noticing that X is like Y in some way. A perceived similarity becomes the basis for assuming that there is an analogical relationship between two things, an analogy that may or may not be warranted.
