Diabetes mellitus Type 2 has been increasing in children because of:
 
  1. Environmental surroundings.
   2. Autoimmune disorders.
   3. Obesity.
   4. Earlier use of drugs and alcohol in children.

Question 2

The clinic nurse is teaching on the ways to help a child with DM1 when a hypoglycemic incident occurs. The teaching should include:
 
  1. Allowing for 6 oz of diet soda every day.
   2. Providing a juice box.
   3. Allowing the child to eat, then return to previous activities.

4. A bag of Cheetos contains carbohydrates that may help increase the glucose level, but will take longer for the body to break down for use.
