If the brace is not fitting well, the teen should be referred to a fitter, so that adjustments can be made. The teen does not want to have his or her concerns minimized. The teen is aware that the brace is there and needs to be allowed to express this frustration. The frustration the teen is expressing is not due to immaturity.
