Answer to Question 1

D
Right upper quadrant pain is an indication of liver distention secondary to pre-eclampsia and often precedes a seizure (eclampsia). Although elevated, the blood pressure is not the priority of the options given. Hourly urine output: 40 mL 2 hours ago, 30 mL last hour are normal urine output results. Resp. rate of 20/min is within normal range for adult respirations.

Answer to Question 2

C
Fetuses lose both vernix and lanugo after 40 weeks gestation. Since the baby has no vernix or lanugo, it is appropriate for the nurse to estimate that the baby is postterm.
