Answer to Question 1

ANS: B
The chest compressions that occur during a vaginal delivery help express fluid from the lungs. A neonate delivered by cesarean birth does not experience this compression and therefore is more likely to have excess fluid in the lungs after delivery.

Answer to Question 2

ANS: A, C, D, E
Childbirth pain differs from pain experienced in other conditions. Labor pain is part of a normal process, the pain of labor is self-limiting, the pain aids in the birthing process, and there is time to prepare for the pain.
