Customer perceptions of value represent a trade-off between the perceived benefits obtained from purchasing the product and the perceived sacrifice in terms of cost to be paid. Total customer costs extend beyond monetary costs and include time, energy, and psychic costs. Similarly, total customer value extends beyond product value and includes service, personnel, and image value.
