Hofstede's dimensions can be used to segment countries based on individualism/collectivism, masculinity/femininity, uncertainty avoidance, and power distance. The Scandinavian countries have a small power/distance (i.e., are more egalitarian), have a low uncertainty/avoidance (i.e., take more risks), rate high on individualism, and have a low level of masculinity (i.e., low ambition and competitiveness). This may be found in Micro-Segmentation: Focusing on the Target Consumer section (7-3c).
