1. Describe that the United States discards 30 percent of the worlds resources and is the largest producer of solid waste among industrialized nations.
2. Describe that waste disposal is complicated by the increased amount waste that is chemically contaminated.
3. Conclude with a discussion that companies taking steps to recycle and that solid waste recycling has risen to 34 percent. This is a positive step in the right direction that must be continued.
