Which statement is most accurate regarding the effect the rapid disappearance of the rain forests will have on global conditions?

According to the functionalist theorists, the incest taboo (the rules in a society that specify which people are too closely related to have sex or to marry) helps families avoid role confusion. This simplifies the socialization of children. Another purpose for the incest taboo is to encourage people to find marriage partners outside the family. In primitive societies, it is theorized that this forged alliances between tribes and avoided wars. Today, it extends the social networks of the spouses by building relationships between both families.
