A project team works on a specific project that has a beginning and an end. Team members work full-time until the project is complete and then disband to work on other projects. It is composed of members from different functions. Parallel teams are sometimes called problem-solving or special purpose teams. They focus on a problem or issue that requires only part-time commitment from team members. Virtual teams use interactive computer technologies such as the internet, groupware, and computer-based videoconferencing to work together regardless of distance.
