Answer to Question 1

TRUE

Answer to Question 2

Many employees steal because they are troubled in some way (serious debt or problems with addiction); however, this appears to be the minority. Instead, many people steal from employers because they see their coworkers doing it. Employees also frequently engage in theft because they want to even the score with employers whom they believe have mistreated them. Some tips that managers can use to reduce employee theft include the following: involving employees in the creation of a theft policy, communicating the costs of stealing, treating people fairly, and being a good role model.
