Answer to Question 1

It is difficult to improve performance in the absence of feedback. One study demonstrated that traditional,
classroom-style, didactic learning is the least effective method of learning. When it comes to learning, the type and
method of feedback do matter. In one investigation, negotiators who received the negative-ability feedback were
the least competitive and achieved the worst individual performance. Negotiators who received the
negative-ethicality feedback were the most honest. Negotiators who received the positive-ethicality feedback were
the most cooperative.
