The main reason that some consumer advocates are speaking out against CRM is because they view it as an invasion of individual privacy. One of the main purposes of CRM is to make it easy to view all of the data and transactions for each customer. This means that a wide range of data must be combined in order to get the 360 degree view of the customer. Companies also use the systems to create complex and detailed profiles about each customer that can be used to predict their behavior. However, this same data in the wrong hands can be a real danger to individuals so it is important that precautions are taken.
