Answer to Question 1

D
Lewicki, Hiam, and Olander (1996) used five approaches for conflict negotiation: 1) collaborative (win-win), 2) competitive (win-at-all-costs), 3) avoiding (lose-lose), 4) accommodating (lose-to-win), and 5) compromise (split-the-difference).

Answer to Question 2

D
The advantage of the avoiding conflict resolution management technique is that it does not make a big deal out of nothing since the conflict may be minor in relation to other priorities and allows tempers to cool. The advantage to compromising is that no one wins or loses and both should gain something. In confronting, the conflict is not allowed to take root and be a very powerful management technique. In negotiating the advantages are that stakes are very high and the solution is rather permanent.
