Answer to Question 1

ANS: D
Random samples increase the validity of a study.
Feasibility refers to the likelihood that the study will be conducted to its conclusion.
The reliability is the extent to which an instrument will obtain consistent findings.
The power of a study is the probability that a difference that does exist will be detected. It is influenced by sample size, but not necessarily how the sample was created.

Answer to Question 2

ANS: B
This study used a cluster sampling technique that is one type of random sampling plan. The results can be generalized to the population, in this case the Southeast.
The four states were randomly selected from all states in the Southeast, so the findings can be considered representative of the entire Southeast.
The results can be generalized to the entire registered nurse population in the Southeast.
Generalizing findings to all nurses in the country is not technically warranted in this study. The population represented by the sample is only registered nurses in the Southeast.
