1) Westernized cultures are often based on monochromic time. In these societies, time is viewed as a commodity that can be saved/lost, spent/wasted or squandered/managed.

2) Middle Eastern, Latin American and Native American cultures tend to rely on polychromic time. These societies view time as cyclical, unscheduled, and operating according to a natural rhythm.
