Answer to Question 1

(any four or more of the following):
1. Don't leave items cluttering the floor or stairs.
2. Avoid using small scatter rugs.
3. Use rug pads or strips to secure large rugs to the floor.
4. Train pets to stay away from your feet.
5. Install slip-proof mats or treads in showers, tubs, and on stairs.
6. Use an appropriate step stool or short ladder to reach high items or change ceiling light bulbs.
7. When using a ladder, make sure it is stable before climbing.

1. Let someone know your plans for your outing and when you expect to return.
2. Check the weather to make sure the conditions are safe.
3. Make sure the boat is in good condition.
4. Make sure the proper safety equipment is on board.
5. Make sure there are enough life jackets for those on board and that they are easily accessible.
6. Carry an emergency radio and cell phone.
7. Don't drink alcohol before you leave and don't bring alcohol on board.
